📘 Betting and Gaming Duties Act, Cap.60

The Betting and Gaming Duties Act, Cap. 60 ("the Act") enacted in July 1977, consolidates and amends laws concerning the imposition of duties and fees on betting and gaming activities in Barbados. It establishes a clear framework for the collection of duties across various gaming sectors, including lotteries, casinos, and betting operations.

To support the Act, the Betting and Gaming Duties Regulations, 1979, were introduced under Section 39 of the Act. These regulations, which came into effect on 1st July 1979, provide detailed guidelines on enforcement procedures, licensing, and penalties for non-compliance.

Together, the Act and its accompanying Regulations ensure effective regulation of the gaming industry in Barbados, promoting fairness, transparency, and contributing to the country’s revenue.
